Sara E. Perry

Sara E. Perry hails from the western shores of Oahu, on the Waianae coast. Growing up in this small town, Sara developed a deep appreciation for tight-knit communities, where people looked out for one another and came together to make a difference. Academically, Sara earned B.A. Degrees in Political Science and Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice, from the University of Hawai’i – West Oahu, and her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California.

Sara’s early exposure to the legal field came from her father, a mechanical engineer who consulted on accident reconstruction and served as an expert witness for many of Oahu’s personal injury law firms. These formative years guided her educational path, and she is proud to have assisted her dad with his work: engineering and analysis on the Dana Ireland case, as part of the Innocence Project. Although she still enjoys personal injury law, family law has become her primary focus. Sara saw a need for fair and accessible legal representation after her own divorce, and she has been dedicated to helping others achieve that help ever since. She especially enjoys finding tailored solutions to each client’s unique needs.

Sara’s professional experience includes three years working at the State Legislature, for Senator Maile Shimabukuro and Senator Lorraine Inouye. Sara enjoyed learning about the complicated intersections between politics and legislation during her time at the Capitol. Sara also worked at the State Department of Health in their Vital Records office.

After graduating from law school, Sara served her community as an AmeriCorps Advocate at the Legal Aid Society’s Waianae office. Following that, she joined Doi/Luke Island Lawyers as their Legal Clerk before stepping into her current Associate Attorney role.

In her spare time, Sara enjoys hiking Oahu’s vast network of trails, exploring new restaurants, and creating beautiful artwork.
